TRANSFOLK is an upcoming drama web series written and directed by Carly Davin Nation and co-directed by Marcus DeAnda. It follows a group of transgender friends and their families as they face the complexities of life with the added struggles that come with being who they are. It's a realistic and compelling look into transgender life presented in a scripted episodic format that works to educate and entertain!
Having filmed a trailer and a music video, we are looking forward to getting into full production on Season One of TRANSFOLK! By helping us reach our goal we will have the budget to hire the cast and crew for the entire first season and be able to put together a top quality series that everyone will enjoy watching!

CARLY DAVIN NATION - Writer/Director/"Piper"
Carly Davin Nation is a transgender filmmaker, writer, actress, and stage performer from Galveston TX. Carly has been writing and directing short films since 2005 including Just Let Me Sleep and Dragtown. She made her acting debut in the second episode of "Walt and Tony Go To Bars", and has appeared in the acclaimed documentary "Before You Know It", as well as appearances in "The Real Trans Lives of Houston" and the music video "Eye Makeup" for Wild Moccassins. Carly will serve as the showrunner for Transfolk, is the writer of all 12 episodes of Season One, and will be playing the role of "Piper" in the series!
MARCUS DEANDA - CO DIRECTOR/"ERNESTO"
Marcus DeAnda is known for his award winning role in the feature film "Pit Stop" which premiered in Sundance. He’s also had roles in the indie films “VIVA” and “39 and 1/2”. He recently appeared on the television shows SWAT and NCIS: Los Angeles. On Transfolk he will play Ernesto and co-direct the series.
CHRIS CASTILLO - CINEMATOGRAPHER
Chris Castillo is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Chris has worked in the film production industry for over six years. He has also been a part of projects such as Oprah's "The Big Give" and "The Montell Williams Show". He has worked for production companies in both the Houston and New York market. He currently resides in New Orleans, Louisiana working as a filmmaker for Chris Castillo Films where he specializes in live event and wedding cinematography.
