A short coming-of-age film about queerness, femininity and identity, set in Bangladesh.

DISCLAIMER: The fundraiser video is of a music video for the Original Soundtrack of the film being made, and is completely unrelated to the actual short film. It has won 'Best Song' at NYCA and is competing at Los Angeles International Film Festival's 'Indie Short Fest' for Best Director (Female), Best LGBTQ Film, Best Music Video and Best Original Song.

'Chul: The Politics of Hair' follows the story of an aspiring hair stylist in Bangladesh, her eccentric single mother, the transitioning trans boy she befriends in her university course, and the quick-witted teacher of that course. It is a story of queerness, femininity and identity, told through hair. As said in Fleabag, "hair is everything... hair is the difference between a good day and a bad day." And to the protagonist, hair truly is.

The fundraiser video is a music video parallel to the story, but the characters here play only a minor role in the actual short film. The original music, however, is to be part of the Chul Official Soundtrack.
